SUBJECT IS MATH

GRADUATION STANDARD(S): 4 (1,3)

Objectives:

  1. working alone, students will make a show-me folder using six steps
  2. students working alone will make at least three numbers

Introduction/Beginning Activities: We are going to make a show-me folder to use for math.

Input/Manipulation Activities:

step one: Have the sheet of paper that has a line half way down the paper. One on end of the line there are vertical lines from the horizontal line in the middle all the way down to the end of the paper. There should be four lines.

step two: Cut the piece of paper in half from where the vertical lines start. Now you should have two separate piece of paper. One sheet should have four vertical lines that are parallel to each other. The other sheet should have a horizontal line that is one-fourth ways down the paper.

step three: Take the sheet that only has the horizontal line and fold it in half from where the line is. Then take two piece of tape and tape both ends of the pieces that was folded up.

step four: Take the other sheet and cut out the four strips of paper. Then on the separate strip of paper write a number on each end of the strips. One strip should have a number one and the other strip should have a two and three and four.

step five: The strips with the number are stuch into the pokect of the other sheet in order to make the show-me folder.
